About this Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 Roadster
First registered February 1974 (M Suffix) this Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 Manual Roadster was supplied and it remains in its original supplied colour scheme of Silver with Navy Blue Interior. With 70,000 miles recorded which according to the MoT History is likely to be correct albeit unwarranted given the age of the car. This is a good-looking example that presents very well with sharp panel gaps plus a very tidy interior and a good set of well-shod chrome wire wheels. The E-Type Series III was introduced in 1971, with a new Jaguar 5.3 Litre V12 engine, uprated brakes and standard power steering, and as introduced produced a claimed 272 bhp with a 0–60 mph acceleration of less than seven seconds. Nine inches longer than the standard wheel-base cars from the Series I and II generations, but less than an inch wider; the Series III was a well-received improvement and highly suited to long distance cruising. 15,300 examples were, balanced evenly across Fixed Head and Roadster versions. The final production E-Type Roadster was built in June 1974. This example has been used very little since 2018, with less than 500 miles recorded to date. Prior to that the MoT History suggests a well-maintained example with any Advisories or issues being attended to straight away. There is a file of invoices with the car notably a suspension rebuild 2,500 miles ago by Winspeed Guildford the remainder of the invoices are principally for parts. Although now MoT exempt; at sale we will provide a fresh MoT for peace of mind, a re-commissioning service and three months warranty. This example is eligible for a 12 months Autoprotect Classic Car warranty at modest additional cost. We see this as an excellent and very straight car that is well priced in today’s market.
